National — On January 4th, 2025, Myanmar authorities released 151 Thai nationals, including 74 men and 77 women, as part of their Independence Day amnesty. The returnees arrived at the Thai-Myanmar Friendship Bridge in Mae Sai, Chiang Rai. Thai social welfare and immigration officials conducted health checks and screenings to identify potential human trafficking victims.
